Fort San Lorenzo

The Fort of San Lorenzo is located at the entrance to the Chagres River in the province of Colón, Panama. It was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in the year 1980 under the name of the Fortifications on the Caribbean coast of Panama, of the town of Portobelo . They formed the defensive system to the transatlantic trade of the Monarchy of Spain. It is a good example of military architecture of the 16th and 17th century.[1][2]
